gun ghaol release ‘sgrios’ ep

Gun Ghaol, the world’s only Gaelic metalcore band, have released their first EP.

Landing at midnight on Friday 29th August 2025, SGRIOS runs to four tracks and just under 13 minutes.

The collection of songs were written & recorded by Colin, and mixed & mastered by highly-regarded producer Kieran Smith.

In a review for GBHBL, the EP was summarised by writer Carl Fisher:

“The Gaelic thing might be what grabs attention initially, but it’s the quality of their metalcore sound that will keep people coming back.”

Speaking about the release of the EP, Colin said:

“We’ve been really excited for SGRIOS to drop. It’s our best body of work so far.

We’ve got arguably our heaviest song so far with Rabhadh; our best chorus in Tog Dealbh; our best riff in Suidh Sios A-rithist; and our overall best song in Air An Oir.

Tha Suidh Sìos mu dheidhinn daoine a bhios a’ bruidhinn cus. Tha Rabhadh mu dheidhinn ceannardan nach eil a’ dèanamh dad mu dheidhinn sgrios-cinnidh.

Tha Tog Dealbh a’ bruidhinn mu bhith a’ ceum air ais bho na meadhanan sòisealta. Is tha Air An Oir mu dheidhinn an t-saoghail a’ tuiteam às a chèile.
